Proof of third party forwarding address documents we can accept

If you have been asked to supply us with proof of a third party forwarding address this page details what we can accept

If you have asked us to forward mail to an address that is not the residential address for a person you are already identifying to us then this is a third party forwarding address. We need you to supply proof of your connection or your businesses connection to this third party forwarding address. As the reason for us forwarding to a third party can vary this page will not cover every scenario but we have identified some common examples.

In all cases we require a document that proves a connection between your business, or a person identified to us within your business, and the third party address. This could include:

Forwarding to a business address owned or paid for by the business

  • A utility bill in the business name or directors name
  • A rental or lease agreement in the business name or directors name

Forwarding to an accountant

  • A letter from the accountant confirming the business is their client and they will accept the post
  • The letter should include details of the accountants regulated status/governing body

If you are not sure of the a document will be accepted by us please contact us for guidance.

We reserve the right to request further documents if required.

For UK clients – we usually only require copies and would prefer scanned/photographed versions by email. Most people find taking a photo of the document with their phone the easiest way to copy a document. Alternatively please post identification to us at our Coventry address as detailed below. We will then carry out due diligence on the documents to verify the contents.

For Non-UK clients – we require a notarised copy of the document certified to be ‘a true copy of the original document’. If the document is not in English a translation by a certified/sworn translator must also be included. These document must be posted to us.

If the document is not accepted or we are unable to verify the contents further documents or originals or certified copies may be requested. We ill let you know if this is required and what to supply.

Question Mark, why is ID required?

What if customers do not provide ID?

The answer is simple! – No ID, no services. We cannot support any customer that refuses to provide identification on request. We are legally required to ‘know our client’ and face penalties if we have not conducted MLR checks.
